What is Kente ?
Kente is a traditionnal African cloth originating from Ghana and having its roots in the Ashanti kingdom.
It is traditionally woven by skilful men who apply ancient weaving techniques to transform very colourful threads in elaborate patterns.
Each colour represents various values and symbols such as royalty and wealth (yellow), love and harmony (blue), growth and plants (green) and so on.
It was fascinating to admire this professional weaver in action !
