Marcus Mosiah Garvey was one of our greatest ancestors who tremendously influenced many generations and other remarquable leaders such as Malcolm X and Kwame Nkrumah.
He is considered as the “Father of Panafricanism“ and created one of the most powerful Black organisations which ever existed in the world .
In 1914, he created the “UNIA” Universal Negro Improvement Association with Amy Ashwood. It was a powerful entity advocating for Black pride and dignity as well as economic emancipantion.
Marcus Garvey was an incredible orator, organiser and excellent entrepreneur who firmly believed in self-reliance as a solution to better our lives.
His main message was to go ‘Back to Africa’ and build a strong nation. It reached and seduced millions of members all over the world (without social media !)… Impressive !
